HALL OF FAME: A RECORD OF NSPRA HISTORY AND ACHIEVEMENTS

Bill Stewart

Bill Stewart was born in the Sierra Foothills of California in 1918. He was raised on a ranch and has been a cowboy all his life. Bill married Bertha (Bertie) Morgan, and after World War II, began raising their two daughters, Petey and Tippy, while continuing his life long love of ranching while working for the Horseshoe Land and Cattle Company. He also worked for the BLM Wild Horse program, becoming one of the most respected Wild Horse relocation specialists in the world. Bill always loved to rodeo, competing in saddle bronc, steer wrestling, calf roping and team roping. Throughout his career, Bill has always been known for his hard running and fast stopping calf horses. Bill was a member of the Cowboys Turtle Association, RCA and PRCA, including being a Gold Card PRCA member. Bill has been a member of the NSPRA since its inception and has been to every Senior Pro Rodeo National Finals as a contestant. Bill is a true working cowboy and respected by cowboys of all ages. Bill and his wife Jan live in their house overlooking the Carson River in Carson City, Nevada.
